Paradise Hotel Busan is the only first-class hotel in Busan that offers a balcony in the sea view rooms with a clear view of the Haeundae sea. From 2003, Paradise Hotel Busan has invested 560 million won to replace boilers with highly-efficient boilers called inverter condensing boilers throughout the hotel, reducing energy costs and reducing CO2 according to international climate agreements. These kinds of positive investments for the environment has led to reduction in electricity and gas costs ,as well as reducing the exhaust gas temperature from the rooftop chimney from 210℃ to approximately 80℃ to help prevent global warming.
Up until February 2010, the hotel treated wastewater through the septic tanks in the basement but through the 160 million won investment in discharge pumps and plumbing facilities, we linked our facilities directly to Busan Dongbu Sewage Treatment Center in order to take a more systematic and efficient measure.
According to the architectural designs of the lobby lounge’s canopy, we invested tens of millions of won to follow international energy policies by installing 425㎡ of highly-efficient outdoor insulation films manufactured by 3M on windows and doors in order to reduce unnecessary energy costs due to rising indoor temperatures.
We have installed LED lighting on the ceilings of the banquet halls. Although LED lighting costs 10 times more than a normal light bulb, it uses only 10% of its electricity and lasts for 30,000~50,000 hours compared to 1,000 hours of a normal light bulb. In order to reduce carbon footprints, Paradise Hotel Busan has installed LED lighting in the function room, Capri and Sicily Rooms, and the banquet halls, as well as the special guest rooms of the buffet restaurants, the Main Building’s sculpture fountain and the lobby lounge.
